Dining Al Fresco
Everywhere you go in Italy, from North to South, you will see Italians eating outside.
Whether they are enjoying their morning Cappuccino and Cornetto at a bistro table, indulging in a gelato on a park bench or celebrating with a five course dinner at a beautifully decorated table in the middle of a piazza – Italians eat outside constantly.
There is just something about fresh air that makes food taste better!
In typical Sunday Dinner fashion, get everyone involved outside, too!
Here, my 93 year old Mother snaps the asparagus and wraps the melon with the prosciutto with the help of my brother!
My son Guido is our Grillmaster and grills the Italian Sausages and Peppers to perfection!

My daughter Felicia sets the table and arranges the platters of food.
But the best part of all this activity is that we do it together! Sharing the preparation of dinner, as well as sharing dinner itself, is the foundation of family life, where we converse with each other and share with each other. This has been the backbone of civilization since the Romans – gathering around a table together and breaking bread.

So now that the weather is warmer, move your Sunday Dinners outside and pop open that bottle of Chianti and linger together!
Buon Appetito!
